I feel so many things.
OFSTED, a government watchdog agency which oversees how well or how poorly schools are performing, came to my school over the past two days. We were given a day and a half of notice, which meant two evenings of intensive planning, preparation, and organization. It was pretty stressful trying to find all the bits and bobs that are required for the inspection.
They lock the school at 6pm, so you...

Marking has been completed!
I’ve moved on from ambient music to indie folk! If I continue on this trajectory, I may well get to electro dance pop by sometime next week!

I’m doing some marking today, which means frequent bouts of mini-procratination sessions in which stops at the usual online entertainment centres apply. Any new email? Of course not, you just checked it 2 minutes ago. Anything new on Tumblr? Of course not, the little red indicator hasn’t come up in ages. Anything interesting on Facebook? Of course not, everyone on your Friends list is...

I have declared a state of peace and quiet in my home today. The cleaning is done, the shopping is done, the ambient music is on, the bed will soon be made. The air is clear, the sun is shining and the tea is brewing. I will sit in a comfortable chair and mark assignments until I fall asleep.
You can join me if you want.

Become bilingual. Like no holds barred, 100% bilingual. Just chillin’ out, speaking English like it ain’t no thang, then switching over to French because it suits me, and because I feel like it.

Dear People Named "Louis"
Your name is pronounced “LEWIS.”
What is this “Loo-ey” nonsense? If you want to be called “Loo-ey” then spell your name “Louie.” That would make a modicum of sense.
If I want to slap an “e” on the end of your name and call you “Louise” I should be able to do that with minimal fuss.

Andrew and Sarah Discuss The Rapture
Andrew: Do you think the world will end tomorrow?
Sarah: No.
Andrew: I suppose the world wouldn't technically end tomorrow. There would just be five months of hell on earth.
Sarah: If that happens, will you fly home?
Andrew: Sure!
Sarah: We could get a basement apartment to hide from all the demons.
Andrew: I love that your solution to demons roaming the earth is to get a basement apartment. "Should we check down in the basement?" "No, don't bother. They probably just use it for storage." "You're really good at your job, Gregg." "Thanks Stefani. You are too." I'm also very glad that the demons are named Gregg with two g's and Stefani.
Sarah: With an "f." And the "S" has two little devil horns on it.

Midnight Cowboy
I haven’t smoked pot in about 3 years. My friend Liz and I would rent terrible movies (often raiding the extensive “nunsploitation” section at the local video store), get high and shout “DID THAT REALLY JUST HAPPEN?!” at the tv screen, possibly making a swirly trip to Subway when we thought it was a good idea (it wasn’t). Excellent mainstream films to accompany...
